Merry Christmas!

So today is the day of giving... me crap. XD Just kidding. I actually received a very modest haul this year. Whoo!

No major updates this week due to the celebration! I actually drank... and discovered I rather dislike wine. So... here's a link to Thatguywiththeglasses.com's very own nostalgia critic ripping on the miraculously bad Star Wars Christmas Special.

Darn Chilluns

Been stuck babysitting my four year old niece this week, so I haven't had much time to scrounge around or come up with a new update.

Also my life is slowly being ruined by TVtropes. Not very good for social life.

Though one thing I did finish this week was the anime Princess Tutu. As girly as it sounds, it's really a good story that celebrates the art of ballet while mixing in an interesting story. Even if you don't care for the art, it also has some hilarious moments which include a ballet teacher trying to get everyone to marry him.

Not showing a trailer but the AMV that got me interested in this anime and one of the best AMVs I have ever seen. (And despite having made a few of my own, I seldom enjoy AMVs.)

I be alive!

Yeah, last week I skipped since it was my birthday and due to general laziness. I am evil! FEAR ME!

Anyways, today's update is Claymore. A shonen anime, with the manga being serialized in Shonen Jump. It's not as popular as other animes, so I consider it obscure enough to put on here. The action is good, the characters are likable, and miracle of miracles lead female characters who don't show half their breast! And what nudity there is in the series is tastefully done and not a focus and not even fanservice the way they present it. All in all, a very good series that I wish there was more. I need to check out more the manga too, as the art style is very unique and beautiful.

I would have used the official FUNimation trailer, but it's horrible quality so here's a high quality and decent trailer.

Oldie but Goodie, Goddammit!

So until this blog gets more focused or I find out people are actually paying attention I'm cutting down updates to once or twice a week. Keeping up with the internet isn't hard, but finding new and even slightly obscure things to keep people entertained daily can be difficult. So with that said....

Today I am bringing up a game that can be a little hard to find but is one of my personal favorites. The Legend of Dragoon came out on the playstation eleven years ago and is currently a cult classic. People tend to either love it or hate it, while I personally love it. The battle system was unique and it was all you could ask for in a game eleven years ago. Some people consider is a Final Fantasy VII rip off, but it is not in the slightest. Really, people who say that must not have gotten very far into the game at all. For one thing, the main antonist doesn't have mother issues.

The graphics are beautiful for the time (At least the FMVs are) and the music has it's moments. Here's a music video I made way back in the tender time of Middle School to the game that has gotten somewhat popular....(Okay, not really. But people rather like it!)

Grumpy Panda is Grumpy

I have an aquaintance who works for JJ Abrams and he has his own little Youtube cjannel with some interesting videos. Here's one of his videos, it's fairly entertaining especially if you have a morbid sense of humor like I do.

Don't We All Have Them?

Just a quick note before todays update. If anyone has any ideas or links or anything they might like to contribute you are more than welcome to leave in in a comment so I can check it out. Updating daily can get challenging so I'm pushing myself and help would be appreciated and also it'd help me feel connected to my (imaginary at this point) fans.

Anyways, today's update is a movie that is borderline what I try to aim for. Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World is one of my favorite movies but it wasn't widely recieved and didn't do too hot at the box office. Which is sad because it is visually gorgeous and if you are a video game fan in the slightest it is worth checking out. The opening is slow, but once the first epic battle appears things speed up from there. If you haven't seen it I order you to check out Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World.

12 Year Old Ho!

Video Game Recaps is an enjoyable site if you like sarcasm and more risque jokes. Unfortunately they haven't been updating frequently but I hope they start up soon. Beware: Fan wanking and people who take their favorite game too seriously should stay clear.

Because you weren't sleeping any time soon.

After yesterdays disapointing J-horror I pulled up my netflix and pulled up one of my recomended horror movies, Reincarnation. Only knowing what the Netflix information I started playing it and found a nice J-horror movie by Takashi Shimizu, the creator of the grudge and one of the creepiest dolls I have every seen.

Hell Unto Us

Here's an anime I found on Netflix. Hell Girl. The series is alright, but the trailer gives it an air of creepiness  that isn't there after the first eppisode or two. In fact, the eppisodes seem to get a bit repetive and you can jump in at any point in the series and only be slightly confused after the first eight eppisodes. There is no overaching storyline and the anime suffers from it. No "HOMGWTFBBQ" twist that blow the mind, sadly. I feel like it's a wasted opportunity. I mean, the trailer just gives it an air of creepy J-horror that I love, but there's not much meat to the series, sadly.

Of Geeks and... just geeks really.

Hey ho, here's one of my favorite webcomics. Fanboys has a great artistic style, and the facial expressions are the best part. The early stuff is fairly generic but I rather like the way the comic went. Going back still makes me smile. Here's one of his side comics called minis.

Musings

So I'm not entirely sure what I want to do with this blog here. The most I can think of right now is posting the occasional thing I find interesting or entertaining, wether it's a picture, a movie, or maybe a story (I do love me some creepy pasta). Maybe I'll add commentry, maybe not. I'll try to update daily, or at least once a week, but no promises. Anyways, to start things off here's a video by the wonderful Neil Cicerga, based of the incredibly creepy Marble Hornets.

And here's the first of the Marble Hornets series for good measure.
